DRAFT Trackdesk vs CAKE: Pricing, Features and Migration Compared
Compare Trackdesk vs CAKE pricing, tracking, migration, commissions, lead distribution, payments, APIs and affiliate network features
Trackdesk and CAKE platforms provide the infrastructure required to operate an affiliate network, including affiliate and advertiser management, conversion tracking, commission configuration, reporting, APIs and payout workflows.
CAKE is a performance marketing platform with detailed offer configuration, S2S tracking, affiliate payout tiers, reporting, APIs and a dedicated Lead Distribution product. Its current website does not publish prices, traffic allowances or contract terms, so buyers need a commercial quote before they can calculate the full cost of running a network.
Trackdesk takes a more transparent commercial approach. Its Network pricing starts at $449 per month, monthly billing is available, and affiliate partners, advertisers, clicks and conversions are uncapped across the published Network plans. Growth and Network PLUS extend that foundation with uncapped offers, Full API access, white-labeling, dedicated support and private infrastructure options.
For affiliate networks choosing between the two in 2026, CAKE remains relevant when native lead routing is central to the business. Trackdesk becomes particularly competitive when the network wants predictable tracking economics, a public rate card, lower commitment during evaluation, free managed migration and newer operational capabilities such as MCP.

Product Scope
Both products can serve genuine affiliate networks rather than only simple brand referral programs, although the platform architecture reflects different product histories.
CAKE is built around advertisers, offers, affiliates and campaigns. Advertisers own offers, affiliates supply traffic, and campaigns connect the commercial relationship between them. Network operators can control attribution, payouts, targeting, conversion tracking, affiliate access, advertiser access, billing and reporting through the administrative environment. One of CAKE's strong concepts is Offer Contracts. A network can create variations of the same underlying offer while changing attributes such as GEO targeting, price format, affiliate payout and landing-page behavior without rebuilding the entire offer structure.
Trackdesk follows the same underlying network relationship between affiliates, advertisers, offers and conversions, but its current Network product is structured around keeping more of the operating model inside a published plan. Advertiser management, affiliate management, commissions, tracking, payouts, traffic controls and reporting sit within the network environment, while advertisers can receive restricted access to their own performance data.
The most visible commercial difference is that Trackdesk explicitly leaves affiliate, advertiser and tracking volume uncapped across all its plans. CAKE describes its infrastructure as scalable and promotes flexible click volumes, but its public product pages do not state the account-level thresholds or rates that determine the cost of that scale.
Trackdesk vs CAKE Pricing
Pricing is the most difficult part of a direct Trackdesk versus CAKE comparison because only one vendor currently publishes a complete Network rate card.
Trackdesk Pricing
Trackdesk currently has three standard Affiliate Network plans.
Seed Network costs $449 per month. It includes three seats, up to 200 active offers, basic fraud protection, offer caps and traffic controls. Affiliate partners, advertiser accounts, clicks and conversions remain uncapped.
Growth Network has a standard price of $999 per month. Growth increases the account to 10 seats, removes the offer limit and adds advanced fraud protection, white-label functionality, a custom domain, Full API access and dedicated support.
Network PLUS starts at $1,499 per month. This tier is intended for networks whose requirements move beyond the standard product configuration, with options including custom development, uncapped seats and private infrastructure.
Across all three plans, the current Trackdesk Network pricing table lists affiliate partners, advertisers, clicks and conversions as uncapped. Monthly and annual billing are available, with the normal annual option saving two months. This means a network can remain on monthly billing after evaluation rather than accepting a long-term contract simply to access the standard product.
CAKE Pricing
CAKE does not currently publish a standard rate card for its Affiliate Marketing Software.
Its current product pages describe the platform features and direct prospective customers to Request a Demo, without disclosing monthly subscription prices, standard click volumes, conversion allowances or contract length.
Capterra provides a different third-party reference and currently displays a $299 starting price for CAKE. That figure needs substantial qualification, however, because CAKE's own website does not publish a $299 Affiliate Network plan, explain what traffic volume would be included at that level or show which network functionality is attached to the amount.
For that reason, using $299 vs $499 as a pricing comparison would be misleading.
A network requesting a CAKE quote should establish at least the subscription fee, included click or event volume, overage treatment, implementation costs, number of user accounts, CAKE Pay pricing and any infrastructure or support charges that affect the annual bill.
Until those values are available, there is no defensible public calculation of what CAKE costs for a network processing a specific amount of traffic.
Which Platform Is Cheaper?
Trackdesk is easier to price. A small or mid-sized network can determine in advance that Trackdesk Seed costs $449 per month and that Growth has a standard $999 rate once uncapped offers, Full API and the wider network feature set become necessary.
The same calculation cannot currently be performed from CAKE's website. Its public materials confirm that the system can scale across flexible click volumes, but the commercial thresholds behind that scaling are not disclosed.
This makes pricing transparency itself part of the buying decision. For a CAKE prospect, the proper comparison requires a written quote based on real network volume. For an existing CAKE customer, it requires the latest invoice and the commercial terms attached to the account.
Those numbers can then be compared against Trackdesk using the same number of clicks, conversions, advertisers, active offers, users and required payment workflows.
How Traffic Growth Changes the Cost
Affiliate networks often scale in ways that make generic SaaS pricing assumptions unreliable. A new publisher may generate several million additional clicks while adding only a modest amount of net margin. Likewise, one advertiser can create a large amount of conversion activity without requiring significantly more administrative work from the platform.
Trackdesk removes much of this relationship between tracking volume and the standard subscription. Its Network plans list uncapped clicks, conversions, affiliate and advertiser accounts, with the private-infrastructure qualification beginning around 20 million monthly clicks.
CAKE takes a less transparent public approach. Its Affiliate Marketing Software page promotes intelligent scaling across new verticals and flexible click volumes, while administrators can configure click and conversion caps within offers and campaigns. The vendor does not currently publish standard account-level click allowances or the pricing consequences of moving between traffic levels.
That does not establish that CAKE necessarily becomes expensive at high traffic volumes, because the actual contract can vary by customer. It does mean that the economics cannot be evaluated until the buyer receives those commercial terms.
For networks whose traffic volume is increasing quickly, Trackdesk's public uncapped model makes that part of the forecast considerably easier to calculate.
Migration from CAKE to Trackdesk
Trackdesk provides a dedicated CAKE migration process in which the existing CAKE environment can remain active while Trackdesk is configured and validated. The migration covers the existing network setup, including offers, commission logic, postbacks and payout rules.
The process is designed around parallel validation rather than an immediate cutover. Both systems can track the same traffic while the team reconciles the results against its own reporting, and the final switch takes place after the new environment has been validated.
For an established network, that matters because a migration can affect far more than active affiliate accounts. Advertiser postbacks, historical configuration, commission exceptions, conversion types and downstream publisher tracking all need to behave correctly before the old platform can safely be retired.
CAKE has also strengthened its implementation process. In July 2026, the company introduced a new Onboarding & Adoption Program, with an initial 30-day implementation phase followed by adoption work during months two through four. Customers receive platform configuration support, strategy sessions and structured handoff from the CAKE team.
CAKE's current Network Operator Onboarding Guide similarly provides detailed steps for configuring the platform, tracking infrastructure, affiliates, advertisers, reporting and billing.
What CAKE does not currently publish is an equivalent competitor-migration package that promises to recreate a complete external network and validate it alongside the existing system.
CAKE does have an Import Offers tool, but its current documentation describes importing offers from another CAKE instance, using the source instance's CAKE domain, affiliate ID and API key. That functionality is useful for CAKE-to-CAKE relationships but should not be presented as a general migration utility for moving a complete network from another platform.
For networks specifically moving away from CAKE, Trackdesk therefore provides the clearer public migration path.
Tracking and Attribution
CAKE remains technically capable in the area that originally defined affiliate network software. Its server-to-server tracking uses a unique Request ID passed through the advertiser journey and returned to CAKE when a conversion occurs. The platform supports S2S postbacks as well as browser-based pixels and a Postback Fallback configuration that combines server-side and pixel-based methods when both are required.
CAKE also supports clickless postbacks for cases where the normal click identifier is unavailable, including some mobile, call-tracking and offline conversion scenarios. Attribution in those cases can use offer, affiliate, campaign and creative identifiers instead.
Trackdesk supports network tracking across advertiser systems and gives networks control over conversion status, postbacks, payouts and attribution while keeping advertiser and affiliate reporting connected to the same underlying conversion record.
Neither product therefore has a meaningful advantage simply because it supports server-to-server tracking. A real evaluation should reproduce the network's less standard cases, such as advertiser-specific identifiers, delayed conversions, offline events, recurring revenue and situations where different publishers need different postback behavior.
Reporting and Network Operations
CAKE provides real-time reporting through its interface, CSV exports, S3 exports and API access. Administrators can also create custom report calculations and save custom reporting views based on existing platform metrics. CAKE's own structure contains advertisers, offers, offer contracts, affiliates, campaigns, traffic rules, billing and numerous account-level settings.
Trackdesk in addition places more emphasis on reducing the amount of routine reporting work that needs to leave the platform. Network teams can review affiliate performance, advertiser results, conversion statuses, revenue, payouts and related operating metrics while individual advertisers receive access to their own isolated dashboards.
The API remains available when a network requires its own data infrastructure, but the day-to-day product is designed so that affiliate managers do not need to move every analysis into another system before they can act on it.
This difference also appears in current user feedback. CAKE's G2 profile highlights customization and ease of use among positive review themes, while complex or inadequate reporting appears among recurring negative themes in G2's current review summary. That should be treated as reviewer feedback rather than a universal limitation of the platform.
Commission Models and Offer Configuration
CAKE currently supports five principal price formats: CPA, CPC, CPM, Fixed and Revenue Share. An offer begins with a default price format, while Offer Contracts can introduce variations without creating a completely separate underlying offer. Offer Contracts can change GEO targeting, price format, payout and landing-page behavior, allowing the same advertiser offer to operate differently for different commercial arrangements.
CAKE also supports Affiliate Payout Tiers, where groups such as Gold, Silver or Bronze can receive different payouts or even different visibility statuses for the same offer.
Trackdesk structures commissions around configurable conversion types. Each type can use fixed revenue, percentage revenue or no revenue, together with fixed, percentage or no affiliate payout. Recurrence can be configured as once, limited to a defined number of occurrences or unlimited.
Multiple conversion types can be attached to an offer, different currencies can be used, affiliate-specific payouts can override standard rates, and affiliate tiers can establish different commission levels for different groups of partners.
CAKE therefore deserves credit for its mature Offer Contract model and the level of campaign variation it allows. Trackdesk's advantage appears when recurring conversion structures and multiple conversion types need to coexist while remaining relatively accessible to the affiliate operations team.
For a network with complex commercial agreements, the most useful demo is to rebuild three or four real contracts from production rather than asking either vendor whether it supports CPA or RevShare.
CAKE Has an Advantage in Lead Distribution
One area should be separated from the standard affiliate-platform comparison because CAKE offers functionality that Trackdesk does not replicate as a dedicated native product.
CAKE Leads+ is a dedicated Lead Distribution platform for businesses that collect lead data and then route or sell those leads to buyers. It supports validation, buyer contracts, routing rules, Ping/Post, buyer budgets, schedules, buyer priority, round-robin distribution and multiple delivery formats.
CAKE can receive a lead from an affiliate or first-party website and then deliver it to an external buyer or internal CRM. The routing system can determine which buyer receives the lead according to commercial and operational rules.
This matters for businesses where attribution is only the first half of the workflow.
A lending, insurance or home-services lead network may need to validate a consumer record, offer that lead to multiple buyers, select the buyer according to price or priority, monitor buyer credit and process returns. CAKE has a dedicated product architecture for that workflow.
Trackdesk can operate lead-generation affiliate networks and track the journey between publishers and multiple advertisers, but it does not currently offer an equivalent native lead marketplace and buyer-routing engine.
A company that requires both affiliate tracking and sophisticated real-time lead distribution inside the same vendor environment therefore has a legitimate reason to prefer CAKE.
Advertiser Management
CAKE advertiser accounts can contain multiple offers, billing cycles and reporting, while advertiser users can receive their own login access. Advertisers can also be created and managed through the CAKE API, which is useful when onboarding begins in a CRM or another internal system.
Trackdesk provides a similar advertiser-management layer through its Network product. Administrators can onboard and manage advertisers, configure access and approvals, associate them with network activity and provide individual advertiser users with restricted performance access.
The commercial difference is easier to establish on Trackdesk because advertiser accounts are explicitly uncapped on every current Network plan. CAKE supports multiple advertisers but does not publish a numerical account allowance in its current Affiliate Marketing pricing material.
For networks where the number of advertiser relationships is growing as quickly as traffic, that difference should be included alongside click and conversion volume when pricing both platforms.
Partner Payments
CAKE has a native payment proposition through CAKE Pay. The service centralizes affiliate payments and tax-document workflows. CAKE currently promotes consolidated monthly invoicing, W-9 and 1099 management, ACH transfers, global partner payments and configurable Net15, Net30 and Net40 payment terms.
CAKE Pay can process payments across the different traffic formats already tracked in CAKE, including CPC, CPM, conversions, leads and phone calls. For US-heavy networks that want payment administration and tax-document management within the same vendor ecosystem, this is a meaningful capability.
Trackdesk manages affiliate balances and settlements while supporting payout workflows through providers including PayPal, Wise, Tipalti, bank transfer and supported cryptocurrency options. Its model is better suited to networks that want to retain flexibility around the payment rails they use rather than adopt one proprietary payout service.
Neither approach is automatically better.
The decision should reflect where affiliates are located, which currencies are required, whether US tax-document administration needs to be outsourced and what transaction and FX costs apply at the network's real payout volume.
API and Automation
CAKE's current documentation includes extensive Admin and Affiliate APIs, covering areas such as advertisers, affiliates, offers, accounting and reporting. Advertiser records, for example, can be listed, created and updated programmatically, allowing CAKE to remain synchronized with an external CRM or onboarding system.
Trackdesk also provides a public API, with Full API access included from Growth Network upward. The more significant difference in 2026 is how Trackdesk makes that API available to AI tools.
MCP and AI Operations
Trackdesk currently provides a native hosted MCP server that exposes its public API to compatible AI clients without requiring the network to build its own middleware.
The MCP implementation supports both queries and permitted actions. Depending on the permissions of the personal access token, an AI client can pull reports, manage offers, approve conversions, update affiliate statuses and adjust commissions.
Those permissions remain tied to the connected Trackdesk account, so access can be restricted rather than giving an AI client unrestricted control over the network.
CAKE's current product and support documentation does not publicly describe a native MCP server comparable to Trackdesk's implementation.
An engineering team can still connect an AI application to CAKE's APIs, so CAKE is not technically excluded from AI automation. The difference is implementation effort: CAKE supplies the API layer, while Trackdesk already operates the MCP bridge that exposes the platform to compatible assistants.
Onboarding and Support
CAKE's Onboarding & Adoption Program begins with a structured 30-day onboarding phase intended to leave customers with a functioning live instance, configured platform and trained operating team. During months two through four, CAKE continues with an adoption phase containing strategy sessions and optimization work.
CAKE also advertises 24/7 phone and email technical support, alongside a dedicated Client Success Manager and Implementation Specialist.
Trackdesk provides an assisted setup model, with support levels increasing across the Network tiers. Growth includes dedicated support, while the wider support structure covers onboarding, integrations, tracking, advertiser management, commissions, affiliate payouts and related network workflows.
Trackdesk's main advantage during initial evaluation is that a network does not need to purchase the platform before it can test it. The current Network plans include an assisted 14-day free trial, during which users can access AI chat, email and live-chat support, while more complex requirements can be discussed with the sales and implementation teams.
CAKE's current website instead directs potential customers toward a demo and does not publish equivalent standard free-trial terms.
Security and Infrastructure
Both companies maintain established security programs, although they use different certification frameworks.
Trackdesk is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, with its information security management system covering risk management, access control, security monitoring, incident management, business continuity and ongoing independent review. Trackdesk hosts its global infrastructure on Google CLoud and advertises a 99.9% uptime guarantee for the platform.
CAKE's current compliance materials state that it maintains annual SOC 2 Type II and SOC 1 Type II certifications, alongside its GDPR program. Its lead-distribution product also references CPRA, TCPA and Data Privacy Framework compliance in the context of lead-data handling.
Trackdesk vs CAKE Reviews
Current verified review data favors Trackdesk in both average rating and review volume.
G2 currently lists Trackdesk at 4.8 out of 5 across 343 reviews, compared with CAKE at 4.5 out of 5 across 60 reviews.
Capterra currently lists Trackdesk at 4.8 out of 5 across 140 reviews, while CAKE has 4.3 out of 5 across 17 reviews.
CAKE's smaller Capterra sample means the 4.3 rating should be interpreted carefully. Seventeen reviews provide considerably less evidence than 140, so the difference between the averages is less important than recurring themes across the written feedback.
Current Trackdesk reviews frequently refer to usability, tracking reliability, integrations and the ability to manage programs without excessive technical overhead. Some reviewers also request deeper capabilities in particular advanced workflows or reporting areas.
CAKE's review summaries show a more mixed pattern. Customization and usability appear among positive G2 themes, while complex reporting and reporting limitations appear among the recurring negative themes. Capterra's current CAKE reviews similarly include both positive operational feedback and complaints about complexity and cost.
Can Trackdesk Handle a Complex Affiliate Network?
FinNet Partners provides one current example. The US consumer financing network needed to route affiliate traffic across multiple lenders while preserving each lender's own tracking environment and returning different stages of the customer journey to the originating publisher.
Using Trackdesk as the central attribution layer, FinNet tracked the journey from the initial lead through the funded loan, while fixed commissions and percentage-of-loan-value payouts could operate side by side. The implementation was completed without rebuilding the lenders' own tracking systems or developing a custom tracking platform.
Where CAKE Has the Advantage
CAKE remains a strong option when the network has requirements that align particularly closely with its mature architecture. Its Offer Contracts provide detailed ways to create commercial and targeting variations around the same advertiser offer, while CPA, CPC, CPM, Fixed and Revenue Share price formats cover the main performance marketing compensation models.
The dedicated CAKE Leads+ product is an even clearer differentiator. Networks that buy, validate, route and resell leads can manage buyer contracts, Ping/Post, budgets, routing priorities and lead delivery within the CAKE ecosystem rather than combining a tracking platform with a separate lead-distribution product.
Where Trackdesk Has the Advantage
Trackdesk's advantages become clearer during the buying process and as the network scales.
The first is pricing transparency. A buyer can see the standard $449, $999 and $1,499 Network tiers before entering a sales call, while CAKE currently requires a quote and does not publish the traffic assumptions attached to its pricing.
The second is the volume model. Affiliate partners, advertiser accounts, clicks and conversions are uncapped on all Trackdesk's Network plans, making software costs easier to forecast when traffic grows.
The third is evaluation and migration. Trackdesk provides an assisted 14-day trial and a free managed CAKE migration process that allows the two systems to operate in parallel until attribution has been reconciled. CAKE offers substantial onboarding once a customer begins implementing the product, but it does not currently publish an equivalent competitor-migration program or standard trial.
Trackdesk also has a more direct route into current AI workflows through its hosted MCP server, while CAKE customers would need to build equivalent AI connectivity around the existing APIs.
Taken together, those differences make Trackdesk particularly competitive for affiliate networks that need mature tracking and advertiser management but want fewer commercial constraints around the amount of traffic moving through the system.
Trackdesk vs CAKE: Which One Should You Choose?
CAKE remains a capable choice for networks that need deep offer-level configuration or dedicated lead distribution.
Its Offer Contracts, multiple price formats, payout tiers, APIs and reporting provide a substantial toolkit for established networks. CAKE Leads+ is particularly important because businesses that route and sell leads have access to a dedicated buyer-management and Ping/Post environment that Trackdesk does not currently replicate as a native product.
The main difficulty for a new buyer is commercial visibility. CAKE does not currently publish standard Affiliate Marketing Software prices, included traffic volumes or standard contract terms, and the $299 amount visible on Capterra cannot reliably be treated as a current CAKE network package.
Trackdesk is generally the stronger fit when an affiliate network prioritizes predictable software costs, transparent terms and operational flexibility.
Seed Network begins at $449 per month, while Growth provides uncapped offers, Full API access and white-label functionality at a standard $999 monthly rate. Across the published Network plans, affiliate partners, advertiser accounts, clicks and conversions remain uncapped.
Monthly billing, an assisted trial and free managed migration reduce the commitment required to validate the product, while the hosted MCP implementation adds an operational layer that CAKE does not currently provide natively. The current review data also favors Trackdesk, although that should reinforce the product evaluation rather than determine it.
For an existing CAKE customer considering a move, the most useful comparison is therefore based on the current CAKE contract rather than a third-party starting price.
Take one representative month of network activity, including clicks, conversions, advertisers, active offers, partner payouts and any lead-routing requirements. Reproduce the most complicated Offer Contracts and commission arrangements in Trackdesk, run both platforms against comparable production traffic and reconcile the attribution.
If the network can reproduce its operation while moving to uncapped tracking volume, monthly terms and lower administrative overhead, Trackdesk provides a strong alternative without requiring the decision to be made on a feature checklist alone.
FAQ
Is Trackdesk better than CAKE?
Trackdesk is generally the stronger option for affiliate networks that prioritize public pricing, uncapped clicks and conversions, uncapped advertiser accounts, monthly billing, an assisted trial, managed migration and native MCP access. CAKE can be the stronger platform when dedicated lead distribution, Offer Contracts or other mature CAKE-specific workflows form a central part of the operation.
How much does Trackdesk cost for an affiliate network?
Standard Trackdesk Network pricing currently starts at $449 per month for Seed Network. Growth Network has a standard price of $999 per month, while Network PLUS starts at $1,499 per month. These figures exclude temporary promotional pricing.
How much does CAKE cost?
CAKE does not currently publish standard Affiliate Marketing Software pricing on its own website. Capterra currently displays a $299 starting figure. Since CAKE does not publish the traffic limits, network configuration or current package associated with that $299 price, businesses should obtain a direct vendor quote before making a cost comparison.
